Morning has broken

A better way to start the day.

"Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head."

"It's 9 o clock on a Saturday, the regular crowd shuffles in ... Sing us a song you're the Minyan man, sing us a song tonight."

"I'm gonna run to you" or "We gotta get out while we’re young 'cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run" or even better "Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars."

"How come you're always such a fussy young man. Don't want no Captain Crunch, don't want no Raison Bran. Well, don't you know that other kids are starving in Japan."

Tefilla betsibur, venishmartem meod nafshotechem and pas shacharis. That's how I should be starting my day.

Prize for anyone who can name all the artists.

1. The Beatles "A Day in the Life"
2. HaRav HaGaon Velvl Yo'el aka Billy Joel "Piano Man"
3. Bryan Adams "I'm Gonna Run to You"
4. Bruce Springsteen "Born to Run"
5. Sounds suspiciously like Alan Sherman, of "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" fame, but only the last line does...
OH NO! WAIT! It's Weird Al Yankovic's "Eat It"

So, that's a fabulous way to start the day, TRK :)
What's my prize?

Oh, & the Jaws reference is Queen "Bicycle Race", but I have to credit Joel for that one. Since we're married & "one soul", do I get the prize anyway?

Sof,

I was just about to write you missed one.

Do you swear on a sefer torah you didn't cheat for any of them? It has to be a sefer you wrote! (Kidding) Which Gene Wilder film does he rescue the Torah from being destroyed?

To be totally blunt, I haven't yet thought of a prize. SOrry :-( Any suiggestions?

I'll swear on anything a Jew's allowed to swear on :)
I knew all of them myself, but Joel helped me with the Queen reference.
Gene Wilder rescues a S"T in "The Frisco Kid". A masterpiece if I do say so myself.
A prize, hmm...well, we're heading to the eastern US & Canada this summer & would love to make commexions with cool people to hang out with, but other than that, the mind's a blank...
BTW, I'm going to answer your comment on my blog today - I SWEAR!

CJ,

I'm not sure those were pop-culture references, but if you think Britney or Christina used them recently, then go ahead and tell us where.

Isn't it 11 Nisan?

How about a blogparty? Get your webcams set up guys, crack open the beers and parteeeeeeeeee (said in Beastie boys tone).
